Mokokchung, August 3 (MTNews): A special District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on Wednesday at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Mokokchung under the chairmanship of Imkong L Imchen, MLA and Chairman of DPDB Mokokchung. Speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Shariangin Longkumer, and Nagaland ministers Tongpang Ozukum and Metsubo Jamir were also present at the meeting.
On the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) scheme, the house resolved to prepare and submit the district-wide annual plan for 2022 – 2023 and the five-year prospective plan to the concerned ministry before the deadline of August 6, 2022 as per the project guidelines for the whole district. The house also decided to ask for more time for the formulation of the scheme.
Regarding the Har Ghar Tiranga program, the house agreed to follow the home department’s instructions, including the raising of the national flag from August 13–15, 2022, in all office buildings, private dwellings, institutions, and commercial structures.
Mokokchung district’s participation in the upcoming Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games 2022, was approved by the house. Matters relating to the upcoming 76th Independence Day Celebration at Mokokchung were also discussed and the work distributions were carried out among the departments.
The house also made recommendations for upgrading Lenjem Hospital and registering the Judo Association Society Mokokchung were made after thorough deliberation. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks from the Chair.
