Mokokchung, February 21 (MTNews): The Nagaland Football Association (NFA) announced that Mokokchung will be hosting the Dr. T. Ao Tournament (22nd Inter-District Football Tournament) in a press conference today at Mokokchung.
K. Neibu Sekhose, President (NFA), stated that Mokokchung has been selected as the host keeping in mind that Dr. T. Ao is from Mokokchung while further adding that most of the citizens of Mokokchung are football crazy and loves the sport.
“Mokokchung should take this opportunity as a privilege as well as a challenge,” he added, while asserting that it will not be an easy task. The NFA requested and encouraged all the new districts to affiliate with the association to be able to participate in the running tournament.
The NFA further added that the tournament will be by far the best tournament the association has ever hosted. MDFA officials on the occasion expressed their appreciation towards NFA for giving the privilege to host the coveted tournament alongside the association.
The tournament is set to tentatively start from 19 April to be held throughout 10 days with 16 teams. The conference was attended by NFA Officials along with MDFA officials in Mokokchung.
