The Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC), in cooperation with ward authorities, has demolished permanent garbage collection structures within Mokokchung town. This was done to ensure that garbage collection is carried out at the household level, as stated by the MMC in an update on its social media platforms.
The MMC further stated that the demolished sites shall be preserved and protected by the concerned wards, with the intention of using them to build public utility amenities in the future.
