A tragic accident occurred early this morning around 5:00 AM when a truck bearing the registration number AS01 DD 9179, en route from Mariani, Assam, to Longkhim, Tuensang, met with an accident on Dikhu Road, approximately one and a half kilometers from Tsusapang Sector in Mokokchung district.
Upon arrival at the scene, police found two individuals who had succumbed to their injuries at the spot. The victims were identified as Yolise Sangtam, aged 53, son of the late Thsapongse, from Angangba village, Tuensang district, and Tsalise Sangtam, aged 51, son of Tonglise, also from Angangba village, Tuensang district.
After completing necessary formalities, the bodies were handed over to the families of the victims for last rites, the Mokokchung police said.
A regular case has been registered at the Mokokchung Police Station-1 for further investigation into the cause of the accident.
