The National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) national assessment of HWC-SC Longmisa under Mokokchung District was undertaken on the 16th of December 2024.

HWC-SC Longmisa was assessed across 12 key healthcare packages, including basic oral health care, care for common ophthalmic and ENT problems, care in pregnancy and childbirth, childhood and adolescent health care services, elderly and palliative health care services, emergency medical services, family planning, contraceptive services and other reproductive health care services, management of common communicable diseases, outpatient care for acute simple illnesses and minor ailments, management of communicable diseases including national health programmes, neonatal and infant health care services, screening and basic management of mental health ailments, and screening, prevention, control, and management of non-communicable diseases.

The NQAS external assessors were Dr Manas Jyoti Kalita, District Medical Officer, Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh, and Dr Chandan Sarma, Joint Director, Office of the Joint Director Health, Nagaon, Assam.

The State/District facilitators for the NQAS external assessment of HWC-SC Longmisa were Dr Takusunep, Deputy CMO Mokokchung; Dr Maongkala, Medical Officer PHC Mongsenyimti; Dr Ajemrenla Ajem, DPM (QA) Mokokchung; and Dr Imnanoktsung Longchar, DPM (QA) Kohima.

NQAS was launched in 2013 with the aim to improve the Quality of Care (QoC) in public health facilities. NQAS is accredited by the International Society of Quality in Healthcare (ISQua).

The assessment saw the participation of staff from HWC-SC Longmisa, led by Moamenla, CHO HWC-SC Longmisa, VHC members from the community, led by the Village Council Chairman of Longmisa Village, and staff from the office of the Chief Medical Officer, Mokokchung.
