Windy Club, a community-based organization established in 1994 by a group of childhood friends, is taking an innovative approach to enriching students’ summer break. The club members on Tuesday, 4 July, engaged with the children and youths by teaching them simple bamboo handicrafts, sketching, and painting at the club’s Treasurer’s Residence in Mongsenbai Ward. By imparting valuable skills to the youth, the club aims to give back to the community and create a better society for the future.

With approximately 180 members, Windy Club has grown significantly since its inception. The club, although based in Mongsenbai ward, also has members from Kumlong ward, fostering a sense of unity and inclusivity within the community. Believing in the power of empowerment, Windy Club is dedicated to equipping young club members with a diverse range of skills and knowledge.

 

During the summer break, the club has organized sessions where children can learn and explore the art of bamboo handicrafts, sketching, and painting. The objective is to provide a creative outlet for the youngsters while teaching them valuable techniques that can be applied in various artistic endeavors. By offering these activities, Windy Club strives to make the children’s summer break a memorable and productive experience.

 

One of the executive members of the Windy Club told Mokokchung Times that the activity will last for more days.

 

The members of Windy Club firmly believe that investing in the younger generation is crucial for building a better society. By nurturing their talents and encouraging their creativity, the club hopes to inspire the children to pursue their passions and develop essential life skills.
