The Pongen Khel Sports Association (PKSA) of Mopungchuket village under Mokokchung district celebrated its golden jubilee on Tuesday, January 6, at Pongen Salang with the theme ‘Tongpu Lungpudi’ (Cohesion through cooperation). Rev Dr A Tali Ao, Academic Dean of Clark Theological College (CTC), Aolijen, was the theme speaker. Rev Jongpong, pastor of Mopungchuket Baptist Church, released the jubilee souvenir magazine.

Temsuchuba, SDO (C), Mokokchung, also delivered an exhortation. Representatives from the Pongen Yimde, Aong Riju Sports Association (ARSA), and Mopungchuket Anüngsa Mepu Telungjem (MAMT) also spoke at the event. The day’s celebrations culminated with a mass feast followed by an extravaganza session in the evening.
One of the major highlights of the event was the adoption of a four-point golden jubilee resolution. The first resolution was to change the association’s name from PKSA to Lemtu Pongen Senso Ait (LPSA), Mopungchuket. The other three resolutions included establishing a Micro Finance Initiative to promote self-employment, developing a tourist spot, and collaborating with like-minded stakeholders to promote games and sports in the village.
