Union Minister of State for Environment, Forests and Climate Change and External Affairs, Government of India, Kirta Vardhan Singh, was on a three-day visit to Nagaland from 19th to 22nd February 2025.

During his stay in the state, he visited Chida Lake, a natural tourist site located in Khezakeno village, where he apprised the village leaders of the need for the preservation and conservation of biodiversity. He also visited Kapamodzu Peak, a tourist hotspot in Zhavame village of Phek district, and interacted with village council members and Joint Forest Management Committee (JFMC) members. The Union Minister appreciated the village authorities for maintaining and preserving the rich biodiversity of Kapamodzu Peak and the forest conservation efforts across the state.
The Union Minister was accompanied by a team comprising the District Administration, Police, and officers and staff of the Forest Department, Phek Division.
