Union Minister of State for Electronics & IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar is on a three day visit to Nagaland from Wednesday. On his arrival at Dimapur airport, the Minister was received by Advisor Mmhonlumo Kikon, and his colleagues Minister V Kashiho Sangtam, advisors Imnatiba and Yangseo Sangtam.

 

Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha told AIR News Kohima that, due to bad weather conditions, the Union Minister had to cancel his scheduled visit to Kiphire on Wednesday. He, however, said the Minister proceeded to Mon by road where he will visit Longwa village on Thursday. Sinha also informed that if weather permits, Chandrasekhar will fly to Kiphire on the same day.

 

On the last day of his tour on May 6, the Union Minister of state is scheduled to inaugurate five National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology Centers in the North eastern Region from Dimapur.

 

Chandrasekhar tweeted, “Arrived in #Mon, #Nagaland at Nagalands first ever RS MP @SPhangnon’s home – where I was extended a warm welcome by her family, citizens n admin officials – her grandfather founded #Mon.”

 

“Grandfather of @SPhangnon entered govt service in 1922 n 100 years later this proud konyak granddaughter becomes first ever Naga woman MP,” another tweet said.
