The Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, is scheduled to hold an interactive session with district officials and local communities in Mokokchung on November 19, 2024, at the DC’s Conference Hall. The Ao Senden, the apex body of the Aos, is expected to attend the program.

As per his itinerary, Kumar will also visit the Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) to inspect a centrally sponsored project building before departing for Kohima.

Kumar, a Member of the Lok Sabha representing the Karimnagar constituency since 2019, previously served as the BJP’s Telangana State President from March 11, 2020, to July 4, 2023. On July 29, 2023, he was appointed National General Secretary by BJP National President JP Nadda.

On November 18, 2024, Kumar convened a review meeting with officials from various line departments implementing centrally sponsored schemes in Nagaland. The meeting, held at the Secretariat Conference Hall, Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Kohima, was attended by Chief Secretary Dr J Alam, IAS, and other senior officials.

Dr Alam stated that the review meeting aimed to provide an overview of the schemes and programs implemented by the state government with assistance from the Government of India. Flagship programs, exploration schemes, and aspirational blocks were also reviewed to assess progress.

During the meeting, Kumar assured that the suggestions and challenges highlighted by state officials had been duly noted and would be conveyed to the Central Ministry for further necessary action.
