Nagaland MP S Supongmeren Jamir has directed the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (NHIDCL) to speed up delayed highway projects in the state, including the Dimapur–Kohima four-lane road and several two-lane highways.
According to a press release, Jamir chaired a coordination meeting with NHIDCL officials and project contractors on Wednesday, reviewing the progress of major highway works. He expressed concern that several stretches of the roads were lagging behind schedule and urged contractors to complete construction “without any further delay.”
The meeting, attended by the NHIDCL executive director and key contractors, included detailed discussions on bottlenecks and the progress of each work package.
In a follow-up measure, it was decided that the MP, together with NHIDCL officials, will conduct on-site inspections across multiple project locations in January 2026 to verify progress and ensure accountability.
