Mokokchung, July 8 (MTNews): The Mokokchung Town Baptist Church Youth Department held the XXXI MUSICFEST on July 7 and 8, based on the theme “Taochi,” after staying virtual for two years owing to the pandemic.
The thirty-first edition included performances by churches of various tribes in Mokokchung as well as some of the best performers from Mokokchung Town Baptist Church.
The two-day music event included a first-ever Battle of Worship Bands, in which Worship Teams from nine fellowships under the Mokokchung Town Baptist Church Youth Department competed for the top honor. A&B Youth Fellowship took first place, followed by Arkong Youth Fellowship and Salangtem Youth Fellowship as the second and third-place winners respectively.
According to the organizing committee, the competition’s goal is to rekindle participants’ enthusiasm for leading praise and worship as well as to serve as incentive for them to keep up the worship activities in their respective fellowships. The youngsters of the Church have been given opportunities to develop their God-given skills through MUSICFEST , one of the most anticipated and long-running events in the community. The message of God’s unfailing love, which is the basis of the theme for this year’s edition, was also communicated to the youth through this ministry.
