Mokokchung, September 12 (MTNews): The three-day Pre-Celebration of the ABAM Sesquicentennial (SQC), under the theme, “Tsüngrem Dang Sentsüwangshi,” was successfully held by the MTBA Youth Department from the 8th to the 11th of September, 2022. Resource persons for this event included Dr. Rev. Chingmak Chang, founder of the Eleutheros Christian Society, Rev. Achu Chang, Executive Secretary of the CBCA, Mr. Moatemjen from Nehemiah Vision Trust Dimapur, and Mr. Tali Angh.

 

Workshops for the youth age groups of Crusaders and Crossroads were held under the topics “Community Development as Mission” and “Entrepreneurship,” respectively. The program included Worship Nights led by Mr. Tali Angh and the MTBA Worship Team. Mr. Tali Angh additionally conducted a workshop on “Worship” with Praise & Worship leaders from all the Youth Fellowships under the umbrella of MTBA Youth Department. A 10k Marathon Race was held with the partnership of “Run Mokokchung” alongside Alcoholic Anonymous (AA) Group Mokokchung, Royal Enfield Mokokchung, traffic personnel and CMO Mokokchung who delivered first aid. The celebrations also included a recreational day, where the youths participated in games that reinforced teamwork and character building.

 

The SQC Pre-Celebration was joined by the youths of the Konyak, Chang, Khiamniungan, Lotha, Sangtam, Yimkhiung, Sumi ‘A’ and Phom churches, highlighting the spirit of oneness in the Baptist Community of Mokokchung, reminiscent of how the MTBA Mother Church began, with church workers from all communities. The program was attended by representatives from ABAM, and persons from other faiths as well.
