‘FAC has potential to become an autonomous college or a university; No visibility of State Govt participation in the development of the college’
Fazl Ali College underwent the 3rd Cycle of National Assessment and Accreditation on 5th and 6th April 2022. Day 1 of the visit consisted of the presentations from Principal, IQAC Coordinator and HoDs of 16 Academic Departments.
The Peer Team visited all the facilities of the College viz., Laboratories, Department Offices, Computer Centre, Heath Sub-Centre, NSS, NCC, Language Translation Lab, Resource Outlet, Indigenous Skill Learning Centre (Ketsangriju), Sports Facilities, Ramps, and many others. Day 2 of the Peer Team visit completed successfully with onsite inspection of hostels and other facilities, plantation oftree saplings and report writing.
The Exit Meeting of the Peer Team was conducted by Dr. Temjenwapang, Principal. According to a report issued by the Information and Publicity Cell, FAC, the Chairman of the visiting NAAC Peer Team, Dr. Verma, in his general observations of the college remarked that the college had huge potential to become an autonomous college or a university. However, he regretted that there is no visibility of State Government participation in the development of the college.
He also observed that 19 members of the faculty were on fixed appointments which was quite alarming and has a negative impact on quality education. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks given by Dr. Lanurenla, IQAC Coordinator. Later, a dinner was hosted by the Alumni Association at Hotel Whispering Winds.
The Peer Team members consisted of Dr. Neel Mani Prasad Verma, Former Vice Chancellor, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar (Central) University as the Chairperson, Dr. Nesy Daniel, Former Dean, Arts Faculty of Arts & HoD, Department of Philosophy, University of Kerala as the Member Coordinator and Dr. Maharudra Kekare, Former Principal, SS & LS Patkar College, Maharashtra as the Member.
Earlier on Day 1, a Luncheon Meeting was attended by Dr. K. Ngangshi Ao, MLA, Government of Nagaland, Prof. Pardeshi Lal, Vice Chancellor of Nagaland University, Dr. Katoni Jakhalu, Director of Higher Education, Shashank Pratap Singh (IAS), Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung District, Aotula Imchen (IPS), Superintendent of Police, Former Principal Ms. Helen Jamir, Representatives of Ao Senden, former Principal and President of Watsü Mungdang, Arenla Longkumer, Village Council members of Chuchuyimpang Riongsanger Tatar Putu Menden and Mokokchung Riongsanger Putu Menden, Fazl Ali College Alumni Officers, Fazl Ali College Campus Union, Rev. Lima Lemdur, Pastor of Union Church, Dr. Imtiwati Jamir, IQAC Member & Principal of Jubilee Memorial College, Mokokchung.
The first day culminated with a Cultural Program staged by the Students.
