The North East Institute of Fashion Technology (NEIFT) is organizing the 17th Edition of the ‘Celebrating North East India Festival’ in collaboration with the Consulate General of India, Milan, scheduled for 9 September. This grand event will take place at the historic Museum – Villa Necchi Campiglio, located in the world’s fashion capital, Milan, Italy.
Festival Director of ‘Celebrating North East India Festival’, Vikram Rai Medhi, expressed that Meghalaya Tourism and Nagaland Tourism have enthusiastically partnered to present the vibrant region of India to Milan’s cultural enthusiasts and political leaders.
Lisapila Aier, Senior PRO, Government of Nagaland, addressing the media, emphasized that this festival in Milan serves as a curtain-raiser for European tourists, paving the way for the Hornbill Festival’s Silver Jubilee celebration in the upcoming years. As Milan holds the prestigious title of the Cultural Capital of Italy, Nagaland sees this as an opportunity to showcase its rich heritage to the European community.
The festival will feature eight fashion designers from the North Eastern Region, presenting their exquisite collections in sustainable textiles and weaves of the North East. These collections will be showcased by top models from the Milan fashion industry, AIR reported.
