Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Dr Tinojongshi Chang, who attended as the special guest, lauded the outgoing team for their “dedication, sacrifices, and relentless commitment” in serving the people of Dimapur. He reminded the newly inducted leaders that positions in the Council “are not merely of status but a sacred responsibility to serve with humility, courage, and vision.”

Highlighting Dimapur’s role as a “melting pot of diverse cultures and tribes” with strategic social, economic, and political importance, the DC urged the new team to uphold transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness, while promoting harmony among communities.

Outgoing president Etsungmomo Kikon, in his address, recounted the Council’s initiatives from 2020–2025, including the adoption of a systematic burial system, representation in the District Planning & Development Board, expansion of the Naga Cemetery, celebration of NCD’s 75th anniversary, and sanction of funds for the Council office building. He also pointed to challenges ahead, citing the Indo-Naga political issue, uneven implementation of the Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition Act, the condition of Dimapur Railway Station, and concerns over ILP and illegal immigration.
