The Seyochung Village Students’ Union (SVSU) visited Government High School, Seyochung Village, to assess academic progress and address key concerns. During the visit, SVSU President Longtili C Sangtam announced that Naga Heritage Studies (Sangtam) would be introduced at the school by 2025. Emphasizing the importance of preserving the mother tongue, he stated, ”Our mother tongue is the heartbeat of our identity—preserve it, cherish it, speak it.”

However, he also highlighted concerns regarding teacher attendance, noting that despite the Smile App being in place, teacher turnout remained poor.

The Headmaster-in-charge of the school also expressed concern over the lack of community participation in school affairs. He also urged the students’ body to assist in managing the Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR), as most students lacked Aadhaar cards, making registration difficult.

In response, the SVSU President assured that they would take up the matter with higher authorities or explore possible solutions to address the issue.
