Wokha, October 1 (MTNews): Nagaland minister for Technical Education and Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along on Saturday called upon every section of the Naga society to move together as one and work together for a stronger and better Nagaland, saying that Naga people cannot survive with isolation and division.
Speaking at the second Mt Tiyi College, Wokha alumni meet on October 1, the minister lamented that Naga people were “breaking up as ENPO, CNTC, Tenyimi” and called upon all sections of Naga society “to live as one and work together as one people.”

He called the Naga people to work together for a collective goal as one Naga family and not for their particular communities so as to build a vibrant, strong and prosperous Nagaland, adding that only by living together and for each other will Nagaland prosper.
The minister also advised the students to go out beyond Nagaland and excel in their professions so that they can bring money back home and build Nagaland. He said that the world is offering a lot of opportunities to the young minds and it is merit and hard work that will take them further in their lives.
Imna Along also told the gathering that no matter what family one is born into, “the very essence of who you are will determine together with your hard work on what you achieve.”
Minister Imna Along also advocated meritocracy in recruitment to the government sector and called upon the people to evolve with time and object to backdoor appointments.
He appreciated the efforts of NSF and ENSF for their consistency in the pursuing the institutionalization of Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) and hoped that the educated youths will now get the opportunity to “excel through the right door” by preparing themselves. “There is opportunity in every platform if they work hard,” he said, and added, “The world does not end in government jobs only.” He remarked that there should be “no more backdoor, side door and window door for appointment to government jobs in the state.”
Earlier, a welcome note was delivered by P. Zubenthung Humtsoe, president alumni meet MTC, while a word of greetings was said by Sentimenla Jamir, associate professor and teacher in charge of MTC. The program was chaired by Thungreni Y Tsopoe.
