The Government of Nagaland has announced a series of high-level meetings on September 1, 2025, ahead of the upcoming Assembly session, with the Naga political issue at the center of discussions.
According to a notification issued by the Home Department, Political Branch, a meeting of the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) along with all MLAs of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly will be held at 2:00 pm at the State Banquet Hall, Chief Minister’s Residential Complex in Kohima. The meeting will review and discuss “all major issues relating to the Naga political issue.”
The Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Ministers, Speaker, Deputy Speaker, ministers, advisors, the state’s Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha MPs, and all MLAs have been requested to attend.
Meanwhile, in view of the 7th Session of the Fourteenth Nagaland Legislative Assembly being summoned from September 2, Minister for Power and Parliamentary Affairs KG Kenye has called for a meeting of all the 60 legislators of the House at 11:00 am on September 1 at the State Banquet Hall, Kohima.
Earlier the same day, Kenye has also convened a separate meeting of the NDPP Legislature Party at 10:00 am in the same venue. Members of the ruling party have been requested to attend.
The series of back-to-back meetings on September 1 are seen as crucial preparations ahead of the Assembly session and the continuing debate on the Naga political issue.
