Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today reiterated that the Naga political issue remains the number one priority for the state government. Delivering his concluding remarks on the Motion of Thanks to the Governor’s address, Rio highlighted the strong public interest in the integration of Naga-contiguous areas and the unresolved Naga political issue.

He pointed out that eight resolutions on Naga integration have already been passed in the Assembly and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to working closely with civil society organizations, tribal bodies, ex-parliamentarians, and other stakeholders to address the issue.

Rio also mentioned that Interlocutor AK Mishra has been engaging with various organizations and individuals, including meetings with the Chief Minister and his cabinet colleagues. He stated that he plans to meet with the Union Home Minister following discussions with the Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) to push for an early, inclusive, and honorable solution to the Naga political issue.
