The Naga Scholars’ Association (Kohima Unit), in association with the Department of History and Political Science, Don Bosco College, hosted Lecture Series – 3 on 11 August 2026. The event focused on the topic, “Naga Indigenous Knowledge in the Context of NEP – 2020”.
The formal programme commenced at 1:30 p.m. IST and was moderated by Mr. Imtiwapang T. Longkumer, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, Don Bosco College. The session began with an invocation by Fr. Dr. Xavier Mattam, Rector of Don Bosco College, Kohima, followed by a welcome address by Dr. Videkhono Yhokha, Vice President of the Naga Scholars’ Association and Assistant Professor, Baptist College, Kohima.
Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, Advisor for School Education, Government of Nagaland, served as the resource person. Delivering the lecture, Dr. Yhome emphasised that NEP 2020 has placed greater emphasis on multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary studies and stressed the need to integrate indigenous knowledge into everyday life. He noted that true educational progress honours our roots while preparing youth for a globalised world, ultimately nurturing a culturally grounded and future-ready generation in Nagaland.
The lecture was followed by an engaging question-and-answer session, during which participants actively interacted with the resource person.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Lanukumla Ao, General Secretary of the Naga Scholars’ Association and Assistant Professor, Don Bosco College, Kohima.
