In a touching tribute to fatherhood, debutant artist Lushian Lam has released her first single titled “Jü Po, Thaiumei” – which translates to “Thank you, Dad” – on YouTube. The emotionally resonant track is sung in the Khiamniungan dialect and stands as a heartfelt dedication to her father and father figures everywhere.
Set against a tranquil backdrop in the woods, the music video gently captures tender moments shared between a daughter and her father, radiating a sense of love, gratitude, and emotional warmth. Lushian’s soulful voice, combined with the culturally rich soundscape and evocative visuals, connects deeply with the audience, especially those who understand the silent strength of a father’s presence.
Speaking on the release, Lushian shared, “This song is not just about my dad, but a tribute to all fathers who love quietly, who work hard without expecting recognition. It’s a small way to say what often goes unsaid.”
The song was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Nestvibe Studio, Kohima. It was directed by Macnivil, with Nchum Patton serving as co-director, contributing to the evocative visual storytelling that brings the song’s message to life.
“Jü Po, Thaiumei” is now available for streaming on YouTube. With this debut, Lushian not only announces her arrival as a promising new voice in Nagaland’s music scene but also contributes meaningfully to the preservation and promotion of the Khiamniungan language and culture.
