A 17 member Naga Wrestling Team has arrived in Ahmedabad, Gujarat to compete in the 2025 WFI Senior National Championship, scheduled to take place from 12 to 14 December 2025. The team completed a month-long training programme in Freestyle Wrestling and Greco Roman Wrestling from 11 November to 9 December at the National Wrestling Academy in Nandini Nagar, Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, as part of its preparation for the championship.

Through a press release, the Nagaland Wrestling Association expressed its gratitude to WFI and the coaches, trainers and staff of the Academy for providing high quality training to the Naga wrestlers. The Association stated that it looks forward to an improved performance from the team in the upcoming championship.

The team includes prominent wrestlers such as Venuzo Dawhuo and Huluyi D. Vadeo, along with other male and female wrestlers. The contingent is led by NWA President Vivolie Kezo, with Vekhriyi Chuzho, Rangsilang Ikierimbe and Mezhiesino Keyho serving as coaches.
