The victories not only bolstered Chümoukedima and Kohima’s standings in the tournament but also showcased the emergence of promising young talents making their mark in Nagaland’s premier U19 cricket competition.

Chümoukedima crushes Tseminyu by 9 Wickets

Chümoukedima cruised to a dominant 9-wicket victory over Tseminyu, thanks to a remarkable all-round display by Aloto Sumi.

Batting first after winning the toss, Tseminyu collapsed for just 67 runs in 25.3 overs. Shivam offered the only resistance, scoring a gritty 31 off 48 balls, while the rest of the lineup faltered against disciplined bowling. Aloto Sumi was the destroyer-in-chief, returning impressive figures of 6 for 19 in his 10 overs, ripping through the batting order.

In response, Chümoukedima chased down the target effortlessly, reaching 72 for 1 in just 13.3 overs. Sumi was once again in the spotlight, smashing an unbeaten 64 from 57 balls to finish the game in style. The only wicket fell to Sokelo Semp, who took 1 for 21.

Kohima outplays Peren by 41 runs

Kohima secured a convincing 41-run victory over Peren in their group stage encounter, powered by an impressive all-round performance from Jenithung Ezung.

After losing the toss, Kohima was put in to bat and posted 171 runs in 37 overs. Jenithung anchored the innings with a composed 35 off 39 balls, guiding Kohima through a crucial middle phase.

Despite a strong effort from Peren’s bowlers, particularly Namdunchap Nbung who picked up 4 wickets for 35 runs in his 9-over spell, Kohima managed to build a defendable total.

In reply, Peren struggled to build momentum. Although Vineet Singh Chauhan (38 off 53) and Anurag Gupta (30 off 24) offered brief resistance, the Kohima bowling unit kept chipping away.

Jenithung returned with the ball to take 2 for 30 in 7 overs, while Sangtsulen Tshunherii polished off the tail with a fiery spell of 3 for 8 in 3.1 overs.
