The Bharatiya Janata Party Nagaland State held the second session of its Extended State Executive Meeting on Tuesday, 16 July 2024 at IMC Hall, Dimapur. The keynote address was delivered by Advisor for Tribal Affairs & Election, Tovihoto Ayemi who called upon the karyakartas to continue their good works without wavering. He encouraged the karyakartas by saying that hard work and perseverance brings success and urged them to continue upholding the party ideals as the karyakartas are the foundational pillars of the Party.
General Secretary (Org) Abhaygirii delivered the Organizational address wherein he expounded on the minute details of the party functioning system. He explained the importance of having the State Executive Meeting and said that it was through such meetings that the pulse of the Party could be gauged for improvement and betterment. He also put forth suggestions on organizational matters and encouraged the karyakartas to strive towards that end.
Minister for H&FW, GoN, Paiwang Konyak, who is also the National Executive Council Member of national BJP read out the resolutions which were adopted and passed unanimously by the House.
Earlier, the State General Secretary, Manai Konyak presented the General Secretary’s report. Reports were also presented by State Mahila Morcha President, Shanbeni Yanthan; BJYM Nagaland State President Hinoka Sumi; STM Nagaland State President, T Rothrong; BJMM State President, Ankit Jain; State OBC Morcha President, Prabhaki; BJP Kisan State Gen. Secy Imna Lemtor; BJP Nagaland State Social Media Convenor Roko Chakhesang; State Media Convenor, Sapralu; and State IT Cell Convenor, Mhayie Jami. The vote of thanks was pronounced by Shilukaba Longchar, State BJP Secretary.
BJP State Executive meeting adopts resolution to strengthen PDA
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State Executive has voiced its endorsement for a significant proposal concerning urban governance. During the meeting, the BJP State Executive resolved to support the proposal made by BJP Legislators for the appointment of Deputy Chairpersons from the BJP in urban local bodies, where both the BJP and NDPP had contested together.
The BJP State Executive further supported the demand for accommodation of government nominees from the BJP to the respective municipal and town councils.
“This step would contribute to maintaining and enhancing the strength of the PDA,” the meeting resolution stated.
The BJP State Executive also resolved to support the appointment of one government nominee in Dimapur Municipal Council, from the minority community.
BJP makes organizational changes to strengthen party
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State Executive has concluded its recent meeting with several pivotal resolutions aimed at enhancing organizational coherence and operational efficiency.
Firstly, in order to uphold the core values and integrity of the BJP, the State Executive has resolved to recommend only active party karyakartas for crucial positions such as PDA Members and PSU Chairpersons. No other recommendations will be considered under any circumstances, ensuring continuity and sanctity within the party ranks.
Secondly, emphasizing meritocracy and structural integrity, the BJP State Executive has mandated that recommendations for State Level Morcha positions will be accepted exclusively through the District organizational setup, under the leadership of the District President.
In a move towards enhanced coordination and strategic alignment, the State Executive has resolved to conduct regular joint consultative and coordination meetings between BJP Legislators and State Office Bearers at least once every three months.
Looking ahead, the BJP State Executive has resolved to organize the next BJP State Executive meeting at Tuensang District Hq. in the month of November 24, further another BJP State Executive meeting will be organised at Noklak District Hq. in the month of April’25.
To strengthen the party at the grassroots and increase the party membership, the BJP State Executive resolved to complete the formation of booth level committee’s in all the polling booths in the State before the next State Executive meeting at Tuensang District Hq.
The BJP State Executive also extended their support to the BLP Leader Y. Patton and Benjamin Yepthomi the State President to carry forward the task of guiding and moulding the party and the party workers to a greater height of achievements in implementing the party policies and fulfilling the aspirations of the people.
BJP Nagaland urges expedited resolution of Naga Political Issue
Addressing the longstanding Naga Political issue, the BJP Nagaland unit expressed wholehearted support for an early and inclusive, honorable solution. The resolution acknowledged the efforts of various Naga political groups engaged in peace talks with the Government of India (GOI), emphasizing the importance of finalizing the peace process to achieve lasting peace in Nagaland.
The BJP Nagaland unit appealed to the GOI and the negotiating parties to expedite the process of finalization so that there can be lasting peace in Nagaland which will positively facilitate the process of all round development and economic upliftment of the State in the near future.
