Mokokchung, 16 July (MTNews): The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), under the Home Department, has issued an alert to the residents of Nagaland regarding incessant rainfall expected to persist across the state on 17 July. The advisory warns of potential road blockages, property damage, landslides, and flash floods as a result of the ongoing heavy rainfall.

 

The NSDMA has urged citizens to exercise caution, particularly in hazard and risk-prone areas, and emphasized the need for agencies and departments to be prepared for response to save lives. The NSDMA relayed the information to residents through SMS notifications.

 

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also updated the weather conditions in Nagaland. According to their forecast, the state can expect fairly widespread to widespread rainfall, accompanied by isolated heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning on 17 July.
