Nagaland builds 1.5 lakh IHHLs, receives Rs 369.31 crore under SBM-G

A total of 1,50,192 Individual Household Latrines (IHHLs) have been constructed in Nagaland under the Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen from October 2, 2014 to February 4, 2026, according to data placed in the Lok Sabha.

The figures, reported by States and Union Territories on the Integrated Management Information System of SBM(G), were shared by the Ministry of Jal Shakti in a written reply by Minister of State V Somanna.

Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen was launched on October 2, 2014 with the aim of making the country Open Defecation Free by October 2, 2019 by providing access to toilets to all rural households. All villages, districts and States and UTs declared themselves ODF on October 2, 2019.

Under the centrally sponsored scheme, implementation is carried out by States and UTs. From 2014-15 to 2024-25, Nagaland received a total central share of Rs 369.31 crore under SBM(G).
