BZ Entertainment, a leading Drama and Film Society, has reached an important milestone in its efforts to raise HIV awareness and fight stigma in Nagaland. In collaboration with the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS), BZ Entertainment has completed 121 street play performances across the state.
The campaign began on November 17, 2023, at Super-Market in Dimapur and traveled through various districts, ending on February 15, 2025, in Peren District. Over the course of the campaign, BZ Entertainment performed 10 street plays in each district, sharing crucial information on HIV transmission, prevention, and testing.
Each performance aimed to educate the public and raise awareness about the need for HIV testing and the importance of reducing stigma. As part of the initiative, NSACS provided on-site HIV testing and counseling through the Mobile Integrated Counselling and Testing Centre (MICTC), offering the community both education and access to confidential services.
To further support the community, BZ Entertainment displayed contact information for District Programme Officers (DPOs) at each event, making it easier for individuals to access further support.
The 121 performances are a testament to the commitment of BZEntertainment and NSACS in raising awareness and tackling stigma around HIV/AIDS. The campaign reached key districts, including Dimapur, Kohima, Niuland, Chumoukedima, Tseminyu, Noklak, Kiphire, Peren, and Tuensang. Audiences in each district showed great enthusiasm, signaling growing awareness of this important issue.
Through the success of this campaign, BZ Entertainment continues to use art and culture as tools for social change. With this initiative now complete, BZ Entertainment has solidified its role as a leading advocate for HIV education and awareness in Nagaland.
