Kohima, 13 February (MTNews): The Nagaland Cabinet has approved a policy for the regularization of services for contract or ad-hoc employees including the School Education Department. This regularization serves as a one-time dispensation for employees appointed prior to 6 June 2016 against sanctioned posts and who have completed 10 years or more of service. The decision was made during a recent meeting held in Kohima on 8 February.
Simultaneously, the Cabinet decided that all regular appointments made against sanctioned posts after the issuance of the P&AR Department Office memorandum on 27 September 2019, and before 22 April 2022, should undergo reconciliation and receive a permanent PIMS number once the sanctioned vacancy is verified. Additionally, the government extended temporary PIMS until 30 April 2024.
Furthermore, the Cabinet resolved to issue warnings to concerned appointing authorities in relevant departments to ensure that appointments adhere to due procedure. It was also decided that all work-charged appointments made under the Power & PHE Departments after 14 March 2015 and before 3 October 2022 should undergo reconciliation as Operation & Maintenance Staff.
The cabinet also approved adoption of a policy with a screening/limited departmental examination to absorb qualified and trained adhoc teachers as per Service Rules.
