Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, and his Cabinet colleagues reportedly held a crucial meeting with AK Mishra, Adviser to the Ministry of Home Affairs for Northeast, in Delhi on 10 October.

According to reports, the primary agenda of this meeting was to deliberate on the demands put forth by the Eastern Nagaland Peoples Organization (ENPO) for the creation of a separate ‘Frontier Nagaland’ state.

Sources close to the matter revealed that the Nagaland government has officially approached the Home Ministry, requesting the provision of a working paper for their thorough examination, NE Live reported. This request comes in light of the ongoing tripartite talks surrounding the ENPO issue.

Crucially, it is worth noting that the Nagaland government has sought a working paper, not the final draft, as reiterated by inside sources.

The high-level meeting was attended by several key figures, including Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton, Ministers Metsubo Jamir, KG Kenye, and G Kaito Aye, alongside Ministers representing the eastern region of Nagaland, P Paiwang Konyak, CL John, and Bashangmongba.
