Nagaland Chief Secretary, Dr J Alam, has urged all citizens of the state, including officials, institutions, the army, police, and authorities, to join the fight against garbage and help make Nagaland truly green and healthy. In a message for the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign, Alam noted that the state has made significant progress since the launch of the Swachh Bharat Mission and Swachhata Hi Seva. He acknowledged that although sanitation has improved, there is still a long way to go to achieve the goal of a Clean Nagaland. The Chief Secretary called for collective and wholehearted participation in the campaign, quoting, ‘Moi Laga Jabrah, Moi Laga Kaam.’

The program was attended by all MMC Councilors, ward chairmen/secretaries, sanitation committees, as well as MMC staff, sweepers, and sanitation workers. During the event, MMC Chairman Imkongchuba A delivered the keynote address, and the ADC & CEO administered the Swachhata Pledge to all attendees.

The launch was followed by a cleanliness drive around the MMC Shopping Complex and a door-to-door IEC campaign, with a special focus on waste segregation.
