The Nagaland Civil Service (Probationers) 2024 Batch successfully concluded a three-state Bharat Darshan tour from September 8 to 26, covering Kerala, West Bengal, and Tripura. The programme aimed to expose future administrators to diverse governance models, innovative practices, and India’s cultural heritage.

In Kerala, from September 8 to 14, the Institute of Management in Government hosted the probationers. Sessions focused on the Kudumbashree women empowerment initiative, good governance, and tourism development. The team visited the Kerala Arts and Craft Village, Startup Mission, CTCRI, and the Alappuzha Houseboat project. They also interacted with humanitarian leader Mata Amritanandamayi at Amritapuri.

From September 14 to 20, the focus shifted to West Bengal at the Netaji Subhas Administrative Training Institute. Probationers explored sustainable urban management, e-office practices, and ethics in administration. Visits included the New Town Kolkata Development Authority, Smart City projects, Eco Park, Indian Museum, and Swami Vivekananda’s ancestral house. A field trip to Barasat II block provided insights into grassroots implementation of government schemes.

In Tripura, between September 20 and 26, the State Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development facilitated sessions on rural development, welfare schemes, smart city projects, and IT-enabled governance. Probationers visited the Agartala Land Port, Akhaura border, Dumboor Lake, and Neermahal, and interacted with the Chief Secretary and the Tripura Civil Service Association.

The Bharat Darshan tour offered a comprehensive exposure to administrative innovation, governance best practices, and cultural diversity, enriching the probationers’ perspective as they prepare for public service.
