Nagaland Congress celebrates 155th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in Kohima

The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee, along with frontal organizations, departments, and cells, celebrated the 155th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in Kohima today. The event was attended by Vapramu Demo, former INC candidate for the 18th AC Chuzuba and a PCC member. He stated that Gandhi’s values of non-violence (Ahimsa), truth (Satya), and cleanliness (Swachhata) resonate deeply in this world, urging each of us to take responsibility for the society we wish to create.

A short speech was given by Kelevono Neinu from the NPMC, who quoted that Mahatma Gandhi led a humble life and encouraged the congregation to be exemplary.
Herole Y. Working, President of the NPYC, highlighted the importance of humility by referring to the life of MK Gandhi. He also noted that Gandhi’s first priority was his countrymen. He concluded with the words that we should make service to people our first priority and self-interest secondary.
Esther Therie, NSUI Secretary, spoke about Gandhi’s life, stating that as we reflect on it, we are reminded of the power of ordinary individuals to drive extraordinary change. His historic efforts, such as the Dandi March and the Quit India Movement, showcased his courage and determination in the face of adversity.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks from Tsarili T., NPYC Secretary (Admin), who expressed gratitude to all participants, organizers, and speakers for their contributions. The event was organized by the Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress.
