Mokokchung, 15 March (MTNews): Following the allocation of the Congress party ticket to S Supongmeren Jamir for the lone Lok Sabha seat in Nagaland, the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) Nagaland and the Mokokchung District Congress Committee while welcoming the decision extended appreciation to Congress Central Election Committee and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.
According to the two frontals, ever since Jamir assumed the office, the party in the state has undergone major transformation and has grown by leaps and bounds under his able leadership.
The NSUI Nagaland observed that despite the severe electoral defeat in the previous election, the last few months have seen an influx of countless prominent people joining the Congress party in Nagaland.
“This is a testament of the ground work carried out by the PCC President,” added the NSUI Nagaland.
“We believe that due justice has been done by awarding the ticket to Shri S Supongmeren Jamir and we thank the Congress leadership for the same. We will work wholeheartedly and ensure the victory of the Congress party in Nagaland,” it said.
Mokokchung DCC said that through hard labour and selfless service to the people of Nagaland for more than 3 decades, Jamir has “won the heart of the masses.”
Recalling the overwhelming response from the people of Nagaland, particularly, Kohima, Tseminyu, Wokha, Zunheboto and Mokokchung during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, the DCC Mokokchung said it was a “living example” of the capabilities of Jamir’s leadership and his team.
Expressing confidence in his leadership, the DCC Mokokchung said they will extend their “unfailing support” to Jamir’s candidature.
