Mokokchung, July 20 (MTNews): In the latest ‘Crime against Women-2020’ data released today by National Crime Report Bureau (NCRB), Nagaland recorded a total of 39 cases in 2020 which is a decrease from 43 and 75 in 2019 and 2018 respectively.

 

Nagaland recorded a total of 22 Indian Penal Code (IPC) crimes against women, 17 Special and Local Laws (SLL) crimes against women in 2020 making up a total crime rate of 3.7%.

 

The crimes against women include cases of rape, outraging modesty, dowry deaths and harassment, acid attacks and kidnapping.

 

The data also showed that the cases of crime against women in cities were decreased by 8.3% in the year 2020 when compared to 2019, even though nearly 77 rape cases were reported across the country on an average every day that year.
