Director General of Police (DGP), Nagaland, Rupin Sharma, has warned that any Police personnel found inebriated in public or in uniform will invite serious disciplinary action amounting to suspension from service if found guilty of such misconduct.
It would also negatively impact annual increments, promotions, and career progression, stated a circular from the DGP.
The circular stated that the DGP office was office is in receipt of complaints of police officers consuming alcohol while in uniform. Such acts are not only misconduct but also taint the image of the Police Department, it said.
The DGP directed strict compliance with the circular.
