Nagaland received Rs 11.92 crore from the North Eastern Council (NEC) during September for development initiatives including Cluster-Based Coffee Value Chain Development and a Cultural Activity Complex at Pfutseromi village for the Chakhesang tribe.
The allocation was part of Rs 35.21 crore released by the NEC to the eight North Eastern states during the month. The council released a total of Rs 42.63 crore, including Rs 7.42 crore to regional institutions and agencies for capacity building, infrastructure and technology initiatives.
The NEC also completed or closed 14 projects worth Rs 45.48 crore during September. In Nagaland, the Rs 9.17-crore Development of Music and Youth Activity Centre at Yasogei, Kohima, and the Rs 1.92-crore construction of an auditorium and basic amenities at Phek GHS were completed.
The regional allocation included Rs 2.88 crore for bamboo artisan clusters through NECBDC, Rs 2.35 crore for handloom skill development through NEHHDC and Rs 1.24 crore for remote school STEM laboratories through NECTAR. Funds were also released to NEDFi, NIT Meghalaya, IIM Shillong, NEHU and NESAC.
Other states also received funds for projects covering infrastructure, agriculture, tourism, education and community development, while completed projects included initiatives in Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Assam.
