Kohima, 19 July (MTNews): The Nagaland State Government has informed that it has been distributing Fortified Rice since June 2023 through Public Distribution System (PDS) in phase manner. Commissioner & Secretary, Food and Civil Supplies Department in a circular informed that the fortified rice being distributed in the district through PDS is suitable for consumption containing nutrients like Iron, Folic acid and Vitamin B-12.
It was also stated that the Fortified Rice is available in the open retail market which the retailers purchase from other states in the country and sell to the consumers.
