The Governor of Nagaland, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, presented the Governor’s Award for distinction in the fields of Arts, Music, and Literature 2025 at a formal ceremony held at Dr. Imkongliba Ao Hall, Lok Bhavan, Kohima.

Addressing the gathering, the Governor described the occasion as a celebration of Nagaland’s creative spirit, cultural depth, and intellectual vitality. He emphasized that arts, music, and literature are deeply woven into everyday life and reflect the living memory and soul of the State’s people. Highlighting the role of creative disciplines in a rapidly changing world, he noted that artists, musicians, and writers are custodians of heritage and pioneers of new thought, inspiring society while preserving its roots.

The Governor commended the awardees for their discipline, originality, and dedication, adding that their achievements strengthen Nagaland’s cultural identity and motivate younger generations. He also acknowledged the efforts of families, mentors, institutions, and cultural organizations in nurturing talent. Stressing the need for balanced progress, he urged that cultural growth must accompany economic and technological development, while encouraging recipients to mentor emerging talent and contribute to ongoing cultural innovation.

· Guru Rarenbenba (Mokokchung) – Arts
· Colored Keys (Chümoukedima) – Music
· Moko Koza (Phek) – Music
· Vishü Rita Krocha – Literature

The Governor congratulated all recipients and expressed hope that their work would continue to enrich Nagaland’s cultural legacy.
