Nagaland hosts archival exhibition on education development in North East India

The National Archives of India, in partnership with the Department of Higher Education, Government of Nagaland, inaugurated a special archival exhibition titled “Development of Education in North Eastern India” at the Capital Convention Centre, Kohima. This exhibition showcases the historical progress and achievements in education across the North East, with a focus on Nagaland, using rare archival documents.

The event was officially opened by Temjen Imna Along, Minister of Higher Education and Tourism, Nagaland. During the inauguration, the Minister launched the Digital Exhibition and unveiled the Exhibition Brochure, marking an important step in preserving the educational heritage of the region.

The exhibition presents a detailed look at the growth of education in the North East through documents, photographs, letters, and policy papers that trace the establishment of educational institutions and reforms.

This collaboration honors the rich educational history of Nagaland and the North East and aims to inspire future generations by highlighting the vision and efforts that shaped modern education in the region.

Open to the public from August 8 to August 14, 2025, everyone is invited to explore this engaging journey through the history of education in North East India.
