The Directorate of Higher Education has issued guidelines for the Registration and Regulation of Coaching Centres in the State of Nagaland. These guidelines were approved by the Cabinet, as per Letter No. HTE/CC/1-4/2020 dated November 26, 2025, in Kohima.
The objective of the guidelines is to regulate coaching centres to provide better guidance and assistance to students in various study programs, competitive examinations, and academic support.
The guidelines offer a framework for the registration and regulation of coaching centres. They specify minimum standards required to operate a coaching centre, aim to safeguard the interests of students enrolled, and encourage coaching centres to focus on curricular activities as well as the holistic development of students. The guidelines also emphasize the importance of career guidance, psychological counselling, and the mental well-being of students.
The Department has directed all existing coaching centres to apply for registration through the Deputy Commissioner of their respective districts within three months from the date of notification.
The guidelines are available on the website of the Department of Higher Education at https://highereducation.nagaland.gov.in.
