Kohima, 4 September (MTNews): Along with the rest of the country, the Child Helpline-1098 and Women Helpline-181 in the state of Nagaland have been integrated with the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) 112 today.

The inaugural program for the integration and the Women & Child Development (WCD) Control Room was held at the Nagaland State Social Welfare Board Office today.

 

The program was graced by Martha Ritse, IAS, Secretary to Government of Nagaland, Department of Social welfare & Mission Director, Mission Vatsalya.

 

Martha R Ritse congratulated all the newly appointed staff of Childline. She urged the staff to give their best while handling cases and carry their responsibility with politeness and courtesy. She also mentioned that as the nodal department for protection of child and women’s rights, the Department of Social Welfare has always taken care of gender-based violence. She also highlighted the functioning and working system of Child Helpline and Women Helpline.

 

Introduction to automation on Child Helpline (CHL)-1098 and Integration with ERCC-112 was presented by Ajay V, Project manager, C-DAC (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing). C-DAC is the premier R&D organization of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) for carrying out R&D in IT, Electronics and associated areas.

 

The welcome address was delivered by Bodeno S Colo, Additional Secretary to Govt of Nagaland, Department of Social Welfare while keynote address was delivered by Tosheli Zhimoni, Director, Department of Social Welfare and member secretary, SCPS – Mission Vatsalya.

 

Childline, which was formerly functioning under NGO will now be under the Department of Social Welfare under Mission Vatsalya.
