Nagaland Chief Secretary Sentiyanger Imchen on Friday launched the Nagaland Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Mission (NSEDM) WhatsApp chatbot to facilitate public access to information on skill training programmes, skill loans and other government initiatives.

The chatbot was launched during the NSEDM State-Level Steering Committee meeting held at the Chief Secretary’s Conference Hall at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat in Kohima.
Designed as a single-window platform, the chatbot will address queries from candidates and citizens regarding skill training programs, access to skill loans, the Chief Minister’s Micro Finance Initiative (CMMFI), compliance-related services and general updates on the mission.
According to the information provided, the initiative is expected to minimise manual data entry, streamline the collection of application details and improve the efficiency of service delivery.
During the meeting, NSEDM also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Kohima, to strengthen skill development, digital capacity building and employment opportunities for the youth of Nagaland.
The agreement provides for collaboration in skill development, certification and quality assurance, placement and employment, digital infrastructure, entrepreneurship and innovation, and institutional capacity building.
As part of the agreement, NIELIT Kohima will design and deploy a unified skilling portal, which is expected to become operational by December 2026.
The portal is intended to support the mission’s skilling initiatives, while the partnership aims to strengthen institutional capacity and improve opportunities for young people to acquire skills and access employment.
