Nagaland is all set to host the 26th edition of the Hornbill Music Festival this December, with the launch of “Ticket to Hornbill”, billed as India’s biggest band battle, the Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) announced today.

The competition comes with a grand prize pool of Rs 4 million and is expected to draw top musical talent from across India and abroad. Participating bands will also get the chance to perform at the Hornbill Music Festival, which celebrates Nagaland as the Land of Festivals.

TaFMA chairman Theja Meru expressed gratitude to Bhikharam Chandmal for joining as the presenter of this year’s event, emphasizing that “corporate support is a very key component of the journey and the way forward.” Meru also thanked the Department of Tourism, Nagaland, Sennheiser as the Audio Partner, and Coca-Cola as the Official Beverage Partner.

Highlighting the broader vision behind the initiative, Meru said the music platform aligns with Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio’s vision to take Nagaland global, and expressed appreciation for the CM’s continuous support.

The three-day band battle is scheduled from October 16 to 18 at Kohima, and bands interested in participating can register online at www.hornbillmusicfestival.com.
