The Nagaland Madrigal Singers, representing India, have won two gold medals at the World Choir Games 2024 in New Zealand.

Nagaland Madrigal Singers Win Double Gold at World Choir Games 2024
The World Choir Games, the largest choral competition, was held in Auckland, New Zealand, from July 10 to 20, with over 11,000 singers from 42 countries participating.

Founded in 2023 and led by Hito Kiho, the Nagaland Madrigal Singers competed in two prestigious categories: Contemporary Music Mixed Voices and Mixed Chamber Choir. They won gold medals in both categories.

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio congratulated the team on winning two gold medals for India. Rio, in a social media post, said they have fulfilled the wish of bringing laurels to the country and have made the state proud.

Elated by the win, Advisor to the Chief Minister Abu Metha also congratulated the Nagaland Madrigal Singers for making India shine and Nagaland proud.
