Nagaland makes online submission mandatory for shops and establishments registration

In pursuance of Notification No. LAB-1/1/2024-25 (Vol-I) dated June 8, 2026 issued by the Government of Nagaland, all employers, occupiers, managers of factories, shop owners, commercial establishments, entrepreneurs, consultants and other stakeholders are hereby informed that all applications for registration and renewal under the Nagaland Shops and Establishments Act, 1986 and the Factories Act, 1948 shall henceforth be submitted exclusively through the online portal of the Labour Department: labour.nagal.md.gov.in

Stakeholders have been advised to take note of the following:

1. Registration and renewal applications shall be accepted only through the online portal.
2. Submission of physical or manual applications has been discontinued with immediate effect.
3. All establishments and factories seeking registration, renewal, amendment or related services shall apply online through the prescribed digital platform.
4. Applicants are advised to ensure that all required documents and information are correctly uploaded while submitting applications.
5. Assistance and guidance regarding the online system may be obtained from the respective District Labour Offices.

The initiative has been undertaken to improve ease of doing business, enhance transparency, reduce processing time, and provide convenient access to services for employers, entrepreneurs, factory owners and commercial establishments across the State.

All concerned have been requested to take note of the above and extend cooperation for successful implementation of the online service delivery mechanism.
