A media team of 13 members, including 11 mediapersons from various media houses in Nagaland and two officials from the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Kohima, will embark on an eight-day press tour to Mumbai and Aurangabad in Maharashtra, starting on Tuesday. The tour is being organized by PIB Kohima, which operates under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India.
The primary objectives of the media tour are to provide Nagaland’s media the opportunity to witness various Government of India schemes and projects in Mumbai, gain insights into the socio-economic and cultural aspects of Maharashtra, and facilitate interaction among journalists from different regions for better communication and exchange of ideas. The media team will report on various success stories in Maharashtra for the state media.
The team will depart from Dimapur Airport for Mumbai on an afternoon flight tomorrow. The tour is being led by K. Sonikumar Singh, Assistant Director, PIB Kohima, as the Conducting Officer.
Other members of the touring media team include PIB Kohima Senior Office Assistant Raushan Kumar; freelance journalist Vishu Rita Krocha; Executive Editor of Nagaland Page Dilip Sharma; AIR correspondent Menguzotuonuo Linyu; Morung Express reporter Kanili Kiho (nominated by Dimapur Press Club); Tir Yimyim Senior Correspondent Asungba Ao; Eastern Mirror reporter Livine Khrozhoh; DIPR Public Relations Officer T. Ngaku; DDK Kohima correspondent Temsurenla Longkumer; Nagaland Tribune correspondent Shongmo B; North East Press Service reporter Menuse O; and Sumi Kukuputsa reporter Likivi Kappo.
The press team will stay in Mumbai for four days, visiting various locations including the Mumbai Heritage Walk, Coast Guard WR HQ, BMC Disaster Control Room, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority, MMRDA Bullet Train Project, National Museum of Indian Cinema, Wankhede Stadium, and the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. The state mediapersons will also meet with Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan at the Mumbai Raj Bhavan.
On October 5th, the team will depart Mumbai for Aurangabad on the Vande Bharat train and stay there for three days before heading to Delhi on the evening of October 7th. During their stay in Aurangabad, the media team will visit AURIC City, a community radio station, the Ellora Caves and other heritage sites, as well as Himru and Paithani weaving centers. The team will return to Dimapur from Delhi on October 8th.
