The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) successfully conducted a freight train trial run with multi-unit locomotives on the Shokhuvi-Molvom section of Nagaland’s Dhansiri-Zubza new line project. The train arrived at Molvom around 6 pm on February 11, marking a step toward commissioning the 15.419 km stretch in the coming months.

According to NFR, this development will improve railway connectivity, enhance passenger and freight movement, and boost economic opportunities in the region. Once operational, Molvom will become Nagaland’s third major railway station after Dimapur and Shokhuvi.
