Schools across Nagaland celebrated Cultural Day on Day 4 of Shiksha Saptah (Education Week) to commemorate four years of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The day was marked by various cultural activities in both government and private schools throughout the state. The event aimed to promote co-curricular activities, as emphasized by the NEP.

An official event was held at Dr Neilhouzhü Kire Government Higher Secondary School Seikhazou in Kohima district, where students performed folk songs, traditional dances, and narrated folk stories from different tribes of Nagaland.

Temsunaro Aier (IAS), Mission Director of Samagra Shiksha, highlighted in her speech that Nagas have a rich repository of stories, songs, folklore, attire, and jewelry. She noted that holding a Cultural Day is a valuable opportunity to showcase these cultural elements.

Kelhikha Kenye, Deputy Mission Director of Samagra Shiksha, praised Dr Neilhouzhü Kire GHSS for being a leading educational hub in Nagaland. He emphasized the importance of honoring traditions passed down by elders and urged everyone to uphold these values.
