Spirit of Olympics Award
The Spirit of Olympics Award is given to a team or individual that sets a high standard of exemplary conduct in accordance with the Olympic Spirit of good humanitarian behaviour. One team displayed exemplary behaviour and a high standard of Sportsmanship. They were disciplined on the playing field and most importantly off the field too.
* This team stayed back in the stadium after the competition session after everybody had left and collectively cleaned the stadium, including the galleries which were occupied by the fans.
* In view of their conduct and their exemplary behaviour, the Spirit of Olympic Award goes to the Peren district for the exemplary gesture of their Athletic & Basketball Women’s teams.
Similarly one district team stepped forward to set the right example. This morning the entire Phek district team assembled in IG Stadium to clean the Stadium and carried out a cleanliness drive. Their exemplary initiative has won the hearts of entire Nagaland and they have they have set a positive example for all citizens of the state. For this gesture, the Phek district team is also conferred with the Spirit of Olympic Award.
Olympic Fair Play Award
The Olympic Fair Play Trophy for the most Disciplined District goes to Mokokchung district based on overall recommendations of all the Associations in which competitions were held.
Outstanding Sportswoman
Tsuchoi of Noklak district was awarded the Outstanding Sportswoman of NOPG 2022.
She won 5 Gold Medals, 3 Gold medals in Individualevents namely, 1500 meters, 5000 meters and 10,000meters.She also helped her district, Noklak to 2 Gold Medals inthe relay races.
She had also won a Bronze Medal at the 56th National Cross Country Championships as a member of the NagalandWomen’s Team. She was a Gold medalist at the last NorthEast Olympics in Manipur.
Outstanding Sportsman
Zhokoto Demo of Phek district was awarded theOutstanding Sportswoman of NOPG 2022.
He won 5 Gold medals in Archery, winning 3 IndividualGold Medals and 2 Gold Medals in Team Events.
He has qualified for the forthcoming National Games to beheld in Gujarat.
